DAYTON, OH - The East Coast Hockey League's Greenville Grrrowl beat the Dayton Bombers 3-2 in overtime on the road Wednesday to take a three-games-to-none advantage in the Kelly Cup Finals.

Luke Sellars opened the scoring and gave the Grrrowl a 1-0 lead with his sixth goal of the playoffs, his second in as many games, 4:28 into the contest on assists from Martin Masa and Colin Pepperall. The Grrrowl held on to the 1-0 lead through the end of the first period despite being outshot 19-6.

Dayton tied the game at 1-1 on Ryan Vince's first goal of the postseason 1:39 into the middle period on an assist from Preston Mizzi. The Grrrowl lost defenseman Eric Van Acker, to a groin injury, midway through the second period then left wing Steve Rymsha, to 12 minutes in penalties, late in the frame.

Pepperall redirected a David Bell shot with 7:52 left to play for his eighth goal of the playoffs giving the Grrrowl a 2-1 lead, but Dayton tied the game at 2-2 at 14:31 on a Jamie Ling power-play goal, his second goal of the postseason, on assists from Tom Nemeth and Andrew Williamson.

Coincidental penalties to Pepperall and Dayton's Chris Wismer with 1:30 left in the third period, as well as a roughing call to Mike Vellinga of the Bombers at 19:40 gave the Grrrowl a four-on-three power play to start overtime. Just as the advantage became a five-on-four, Luke Sellars one-timed a Roger Trudeau pass for his second goal of the game and seventh of the playoffs giving the Grrrowl the win. Simon Gamache also assisted on the goal extending his scoring streak to ten games while Trudeau extended an assist streak to four games on the play.

The Grrrowl were 1 for 6 on the power play while Dayton was 1 for 7. The Bombers had 39-23 shots on goal advantage.

The Grrrowl can clinch the first championship in franchise history with a win in any of the remaining four games in the series. Game four will take place in Dayton Friday at 7:30 p.m. Game five, if necessary, will be played in Dayton Sunday at 6 p.m. Games six and seven, if necessary, will be played at the BI-LO Center in Greenville on Wednesday and Friday May 15th and 17th at 7:05 p.m.
