FRESNO, Calif. – In advance of the 2002 Taylor Cup Championship presented by Mono Wind Casino and PostalAnnex+, Fresno Mayor Alan Autry has placed a wager with Boise, Idaho Mayor Brent Coles as to the outcome of the series. The Fresno Falcons will open the Taylor Cup Championship tomorrow night against the Idaho Steelheads in Boise.

As per terms of the wager, if the Falcons defeat the Steelheads in the best-of-seven series, Mayor Coles will send Mayor Autry 350 pounds of potatoes. If the Steelheads win the series, Mayor Autry will send 350 pounds of Chooljian Brothers Raisins to Boise. In addition to the exchange of the teams' top agricultural products, the losing mayor will also purchase a season ticket for the winning mayor to his team's games next season. The losing mayor will also wear the winning team's jersey at the first city council meeting following the completion of the series.
