
Olver Challenges Local Media

Boise, ID. â Thursday afternoon in a press conference at the Bank of America Centre Steelheads head coach John Olver issued a challenge to the local media. With game one of the Taylor Cup Finals a little over twenty-four hours away, Olver looked to drum up support for the team and for the âwhite out'. Games one and two of the Taylor Cups Finals are this Friday and Saturday night at the BofA Centre. For tickets call 331-8497 (TIXS).
"I challenge the local media to support the âwhite out' this weekend at the BofA Centre and throughout the Taylor Cup Finals", said Olver. "We have great fans and we are asking them to help us turn the BofA Centre into a complete âwhite out'. We need the media to help spread the word thru their participation in this challenge. A Boise Blizzard throughout the playoffs would create a tremendous atmosphere and also would energize our team as we try to bring home the Taylor Cup."
Media Challenge
1. If a member of a media outlet (newspaper, television, radio â on air personality, writer or anchor) wears a blond wig on air or at their job the Steelheads will donate ten tickets for next season to the Boys and Girls Club or charity or their choice.
2. If a member of a media outlet (newspaper, television, radio â on air personality, writer or anchor) wears their hair painted white on air or at their job the Steelheads will donate twenty tickets for next season to the Boys and Girls Club or charity of their choice.
3. If a member of a media outlet (newspaper, television, radio â on air personality, writer or anchor) bleaches his hair and wears it on air or at their job the Steelheads will donate $500 dollars to the Boys and Girls Club or the charity of their choice.
Each instance of media outlets (newspaper, television, radio â on air personality, writer or anchor) participating in the challenge will result in a ticket donation. This media challenge with continue throughout the Taylor Cup Finals, media outlets can be multiple ticket winners. The $500 challenge is limited to one per media outlet during the Finals.

All Steelheads games can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1350 KTIK. Also the Bud Light Idaho Steelheads Hockey Show airs Monday â Friday from 6:00 â 7:00 PM MDT on ESPN Radio 1350 KTIK.
