Taylor Cup Finals Heat Up With Mayor\'s Challenge

Boise, ID. – Thursday the Taylor Cup Finals between the Idaho Steelheads and the Fresno Falcons picked up steam as the traditional wagering between mayors took place in an afternoon press conference at the BofA Centre. Boise Mayor Brent Coles and Frenso Mayor Alan Autry agreed to a bet that hinges on the outcome of the Finals. Games one and two of the Taylor Cup Finals are this Friday and Saturday night at the BofA Centre. For tickets call 331-8497 (TIXS).

"The city of Boise is behind the Steelheads all the way," said Mayor Coles. "The Taylor Cup Finals are great for the Treasure Valley, and we are excited to have a small part in this."

Mayor's Taylor Cup Finals Bet

If Fresno wins Mayor Coles will:

*Send 230 lbs. of potatoes to Fresno representing Idaho's agriculture.

Purchase a season ticket to Fresno Falcons Hockey for the Fresno mayor's office for the 2002-03 season.

Wear a Falcons jersey to the next Boise City Council meeting.

If Idaho wins Mayor Autry will:

*Send 230 lbs. of raisins to Idaho representing Fresno's agriculture.

Purchase a season ticket to Idaho Steelheads Hockey for the Boise mayor's office for the 2002-03 season.

Wear a Steelheads jersey to the next Fresno City Council meeting.

*The 230 lbs. figure represents the largest player on the Fresno roster.
