Chiefs To Hold Hockey School

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs General Manager Toby O'Brien announced today, that they will be holding the Chiefs Hockey School from July 22nd- July 26th, at Planet Ice, in Richland Township. The hockey school is part of the "Kids on Ice Program," sponsored by Wolf's Furniture. Once again, three age groups will participate in the hockey school. Each group will receive four hours of instruction each day. The Mite sessions will run from 8:30A-12:30P. Squirt/Pee Wee from 11:15A-3:15P, and Bantam/High School from 12:30P-4:30P. Each player will receive professional instruction, along with on ice, off ice, and video instruction. O'Brien, along with Chiefs Head Coach Scott Allen, and IUP Head Coach Sam Kelly are the featured instructors. The cost of the camp is $195.00. A $100.00 deposit is due by June 1st to secure a spot. You must be paid in full by July 1st in order to participate. After a very successful season in the Empire Junior "B" Hockey League, the Johnstown Jr. B Chiefs are back for a sophomore season. The team finished 4th in the EJBHL last season. They will be holding open tryouts on June 8th and 9th at the Indianan Ice Center. Bantam ages to 20 year olds are eligible to tryout. The Junior Chiefs (Mites-Bantams) will also be holding tryouts June 8th and 9th at the Indiana Ice Center. Players eligible to tryout for the Junior Chiefs must come from the Laurel Highlands region, Altoona, State College, Northern Maryland, and east of Pittsburgh regions. The fee to tryout is $50.00. The Junior Chiefs program was established in 2000, as a select program for players from the above listed geographic region. The Junior Chiefs receive professional instruction and practice a couple of times a month. They participate in pre and post season tournaments throughout the Northeast.
