Louisville Bats News Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Max Schrock led off the contest with a home run, but it was all Nashville from there as Weston Wilson homered and drove in three to lead the Sounds to a 9-3 win over Louisville Bats Sunday night at First Horizon Park.

The Bats have now posted back-to-back non-losing series' for the first time this year with a with a six-game split in Nashville and 4-2 series win against Indianapolis last week.

Top prospect Hunter Greene faced control issues, issuing a Triple-A season-high four walks and plunking a batter. Greene struck out two and touched 100 MPH with his fastball, but key singles from Yeison Coca and Wilson, which plated two runs apiece, spelled the difference in Greene's five-run outing over 4.0 innings.

After allowing a solo shot to Schrock to open the game, Sounds starter Bowden Francis faced just three over the minimum through his 6.0 frames and quality start. He whiffed four en route to his fourth win of the season.

Greene singled in the fifth inning for his first Triple-A hit, while Beau Taylor homered in the ninth for his third long ball on the year.

Tony Santillan struck out two in his lone inning of work during his first appearance out of Louisville's bullpen.

The Bats will enjoy a day off Monday before returning home for a six-game set against the Memphis Redbirds. The series begins Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field.
