Green-Grey Game: Saturday, August 29
August 28, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Everett Silvertips News Release
The Silvertips' annual Green-Grey game will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday afternoon and will feature a different format from years past. As always, there is no charge for the Green-Grey game.
Instead of featuring the top performers from Rookie Camp, this year's Green-Grey game will feature mostly Silvertip veterans with several standout roster hopefuls and prospects as well. For fans who did not have the opportunity to attend training camp sessions, this will allow for the first glimpse at the 2009-10 squad, including veterans like Shane Harper, Zack Dailey and Kellan Tochkin, as well as newcomer Radko Gudas, with several draft picks and prospects for added measure.
Doors at Comcast Arena's main entrance (Hewitt and Oakes) will open at 2:15 pm to allow fans to watch warmups. While admission is free, we kindly ask that fans bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Volunteers of America Food Bank. Collection bins will be located inside the main entrance.
Thank you for your generosity, Silvertip Country, and we can't wait to welcome the 2009-10 squad back to town with a ton of noise at the Green-Grey game!
Everett Silvertips Pre-Season Tournament
The Everett Silvertips will be hosting the Sixth Annual Everett Silvertips Preseason Tournament next weekend, held at Comcast Arena from Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6 and featuring the Silvertips, Seattle Thunderbirds, Portland Winterhawks, Spokane Chiefs, Tri-City Americans and Prince George Cougars.
The Silvertips will face off against Tri-City on Friday, Seattle on Saturday, and Portland on Sunday, with all games scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. In all, nine games will be played over the span of three days.
The best way to take advantage of this weekend full of hockey would be to order a $60 tournament package, which gives you tickets to all nine tournament games. Fans may also consider purchasing an $88 Peter Mueller Package, which provides a full tournament package in addition to an upper level ticket to the NHL exhibition game on September 22.
Single game tournament tickets, priced at $10, are currently on sale at the Comcast Arena Box Office, online at Silvertips.com , through the secure ticketing hotline at (866) 332-8499, and by visiting the Silvertips offices at the corner of Hewitt and Lombard.
Home Opener: Saturday, September 26
Silvertips fans, the 2009-10 home opener is less than one month away!
While we can't wait to see you at the Preseason Tournament and the NHL exhibition game, we also want to pack the house to welcome the Silvertips back to Comcast Arena while generating a difficult environment for the rival Vancouver Giants.
Everett-Vancouver games are always filled with intriguing story lines and fierce competition. After the Silvertips won twice on Pacific Coliseum ice last season, the Giants will be hungry to spoil the Silvertips' home opener. We want you to be there, ringing cowbells and once again exhibiting why Snohomish County is home to the best fans in the WHL.
To kick off the 2008-09 season with two talented Western Conference squads, we hope you'll call the Silvertips offices at (425) 252-5100 or visit Silvertips.com to order tickets. Group ticketing and ticket packages are also available by speaking with one of our friendly ticketing representatives.
