Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
St. Albert, AB.: The Edmonton Oil Kings 3rd Annual Pre-season Invitational Tournament presented by Elite Sportswear and Awards got underway today at 3:00 pm. The Medicine Hat Tigers and the Moose Jaw Warriors opened things up and it was all Moose Jaw in the first period. The Warriors outshot the Tigers 15 to 4, and took advantage of a two man advantage in the second half of the period. Joel Edmondson scored while the Warriors were up a pair, and less than a minute later Spencer Edwards scored while the Warriors were still one man up. The first ends with the Warrioirs up 2 - 0.
The second period was more of the same as the Warriors scored less than two minutes in to the frame. Antonin Honejsek stuck in a puck that bounced off the end boards on a wide point shot to make it 3 - 0. Two minutes later, Edwards scored his second of the game for Moose Jaw, that made it 4 -0. The Tigers got it going later in the period. Hunter Shinkaruk scored and Mike Forsyth followed it up less than a minute later, with a shorthanded goal, to make it 4 - 2, after 2.
I the third, Spencer Edwards completed the hat trick to make it 5 - 2 and that is the way it ended.
