Kenosha Kingfish News Release
Kenosha, Wis. - Kingfish starter Rico Garcia's six plus innings, four strikeout outing was not enough for Kenosha, as the Kingfish fell 4-2 to the Green Bay Bullfrogs Monday night at Simmons Field.
The Bullfrogs (39-28) jumped on Garcia early, hitting for three runs in the top of the first. Danny Rosenbaum highlighted the Green Bay scoring with a two RBI double in the inning.
The Kingfish (46-21) tried to chip away at the Green Bay lead, scoring on an error in the first and an RBI single from Eric Filia in the fifth to make it 4-2 Bullfrogs. That was as close as the Kingfish could get all night, losing by two.
The Kingfish struggled offensively, with Filia providing the lone RBI. John Brodner and Filia both led the team with two hits. Zach Weigel and Alex Borglin scored both Kingfish runs. The Kingfish left a total of 10 runners on base.
Along with his four strikeouts, Garcia did not allow a walk in his start for Kenosha. After a rough first inning, Garcia settled in to only allow one run over the next five innings. He did ultimately take the loss in the game. Brett Shimanovsky and Ryan Orr worked out of the bullpen to end the game for the Kingfish.
Jeremy Graf earned the win for the Bullfrogs. The righty went five innings, allowing two runs, none earned, on five hits. Chad Dullnig worked the final two plus frames to secure the save for Green Bay. Logan Taylor paced the Bullfrogs with three hits. Paul Jacobson went 2-2 with two runs scored and Rosenbaum had his two RBI double in the first inning.
