
Grasshoppers Take Series Win with 12-5 Victory over the Hot Rods

GREENSBORO, NC - The Greensboro Grasshoppers take the series win with a 12-5 victory over the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Sunday, August 20. The Grasshoppers improved to 25-22 in the second half of the season while the Hot Rods fell to 27-19. Greensboro outhit Bowling Green 11-8 as both teams had two errors.
Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was Jase Bowen as he went 3-4 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Following close behind was Francisco Acuña and Luke Brown. Acuña went 2-4 with a double and one RBI while Brown went 2-3 with a home run, four RBI, and one run scored.
Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Po-Yu Chen as he tallied two strikeouts and gave up four hits and three earned runs on three innings of work. Joshua Loeschorn recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 2-0 on the season.
Duncan Davitt took the loss for the Hot Rods and fell to 3-3 on the season.
