Traverse City Pit Spitters News Release

Traverse City, MI - The Traverse City Pit Spitters (8-8) found themselves on the wrong side of a pitcher's duel, surrendering a late grand slam to the Kenosha Kingfish (9-7) in a 4-0 loss.

Mason Patel delivered a beautiful game on the mound. He went 5 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out a season-high nine batters. Nine strikeouts are the most strikeouts by a pitcher this season.

Kenosha had a gem of their own. Their starter Chris Candiotti went six scoreless. He gave up four hits, two walks and two hit batters, but Traverse City left seven runners on base, five of those in scoring position.

Kenosha had the one big hit in the game. A two-out grand slam by Jacob Tobias in the bottom of the seventh was the difference in the game.
