DAYTON, OHIO - Right-handed starting pitcher Graham Ashcraft, who spent the first seven weeks of the 2021 season with the Dayton Dragons, has been named Cincinnati Reds Minor League Pitcher of the Month for June.

Ashcraft made five starts during the month including three with the Dragons and did not allow an earned run in 32 innings. Ashcraft has an active streak of six consecutive starts without allowing an earned run dating back to his final start in May. He has tossed 37 innings during the streak including 23 with the Dragons and 14 with the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts, his current team.

Between Dayton and Chattanooga, Ashcraft went 4-0 with a 0.00 ERA in June. In 32 innings, he allowed 10 hits with nine walks and 39 strikeouts. He allowed one unearned run on June 5, his first start of the month.

Ashcraft was the Reds sixth round draft pick in 2019 out of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was promoted from the Dragons to Chattanooga on June 22 and fired a nine-inning, two-hit shutout in his first start at the Double-A level.

Ashcraft is the second Dayton player to earn a monthly award from the Reds this season. Brian Rey was the Reds Minor League Batter of the Month for May. Rey appeared in 13 games with the Dragons, batting .421 with six home runs and 19 RBI before being promoted to Chattanooga, where he appeared in another seven games in May.

The Dragons open a long homestand on Tuesday, July 6 against West Michigan at Day Air Ballpark in Dayton. That six-game series at Day Air Ballpark will be followed by a six-game set against Great Lakes, also at home, beginning July 13.
