Snappers Ninth-Inning Rally Comes Up Short Against Timber Rattlers

BELOIT, WI - Down 12-3 going into the bottom of the ninth, the biggest crowd of the year -- almost 1000 strong, watched the Beloit Snappers (26-27) make a late push with six runs in the final frame. The effort came up short as the Snappers dropped game five 12-9 to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (23-28) on Saturday.

The Timber Rattlers scored eight runs in the first five innings, including three home runs, and they added four more in the late innings. Beloit put three runs on the board in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single from Griffin Conine and a two-RBI double from Will Banfield.

Down to their final out, The Snappers rallied for six runs including back-to-back home runs from Connor Scott and Kameron Misner, and Conine's 17th home run of this season. Conine's home run on Saturday was his fifth home run in his last six games.

Beloit's Top Performers: Scott was 2-for-4 with a walk, double, and a two-run home run. Conine went 2-for-3 with a home run, walk, hit-by-pitch, and three RBIs.

- Sunday, July 4 - is Family Funday. 2-for-1 select seltzers (White Claw - Mango and Black Cherry, Vizzy and Truly), kids run the bases after the game, and families can have a catch in the outfield. Following Sunday's game fans are allowed to stay and watch the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra perform and a special 4th of July fireworks show.
