MANCHESTER – Governor John Lynch, in coordination with the New Hampshire Business Resource Center, will present the Manchester Monarchs with an "Economic Initiative Award" at a press conference to be held at the Radisson Hotel at the Center of New Hampshire on Sunday, February 13 at 12:45 p.m.

The Monarchs, host team for the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic, have been a vital cog in the state's economy, boasting the highest attendance in the American Hockey League for the past two years. In addition, the Monarchs have been a valued community partner, donating over $600,000 in cash and in-kind services to a variety of charitable concerns through the Monarchs Care Foundation.

"From day one, the Manchester Monarchs have not only stimulated the local economy, they've given back to the citizens of this state," Governor Lynch said. "This award celebrates the atmosphere of partnership that they've created as well as the many dollars that they've generated for New Hampshire."

Following the award presentation, Governor Lynch will both welcome and issue a commendation to the AHL Board of Governors prior to their scheduled meeting.
