Amarillo Gorillas News Release
Amarillo, TX - The Amarillo Gorillas will try to get win number two on the season this weekend, as they head into a home-and-home set with the New Mexico Scorpions. Coming into the weekend, Amarillo sits five points behind the Scorpions in the Southwest division who are currently in third place.
Amarillo is 0-1-1 against the Scorpions this year, losing last weekend in New Mexico and the weekend before via shootout in Amarillo. Friday night's game will be played in New Mexico and will be broadcast for the public at Beef O'Brady's as part of the Gorillas 'Home Away From Home' promotion. Both teams will then return to Amarillo for Saturday night's contest at the Amarillo Civic Center. The Gorillas will welcome the Maverick Boys and Girls Club as their 'Non-Profit Organization of the Night', and will honor the men and women who serve our country as part of our Military Appreciation Night. On Saturday night, the Gorillas will feature specialty jerseys (1980 Team USA themed) that will be auctioned off at the end of the game.

Military Appreciation Night -
Saturday night's contest will be the Gorillas Military Appreciation Night, where we honor those who serve our country. Military personnel are invited to attend the game, and they can pick up a specially priced ticket at the Gorillas Office (1934 Civic Circle). The Gorillas will be wearing specialty jerseys on Saturday night (1980 Team USA hockey theme) which will be auctioned off after the game. Also, the first 1,000 fans to the game will receive game pucks courtesy of AquaOne.
