Youngstown Takes Over Top Spot in the CHL Coaches Poll

The Youngstown SteelHounds are off to a remarkable start this season going a franchise record 12 straight games without a regulation loss. On the season, the Hounds are 11-0-1 with all 12 games thus far coming on the road. The team does not return to NE Ohio for their home opener until Friday, November 23rd. The SteelHounds held the #2 spot on the first Coaches Poll of the year (released on November 1st) but in a head-to-head match-up with then #1 Laredo, the Hounds came out with a 3-2 victory dealing the Bucks their only loss of the season.

Voting for the CHL Coaches Poll is done by the 17 CHL Head Coaches. The SteelHounds received 15 of the 17 first place votes (teams cannot vote for themselves). Laredo received the other two first place votes.

The CHL Top 10 Coaches Poll will be released on the 1st and 15th of each month throughout the season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place earns nine points, etc.
