Gorillas holiday hockey returns with two games this weekend

AMARILLO, TX â It's time for that annual tradition of Thanksgiving, family and hockey. The Amarillo Gorillas have two big games this weekend as part of the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. On Friday night the Gorillas host the Austin Ice Bats at 7 p.m. It's the annual Run from Your Relatives with 50 cent hot dogs. Then on Saturday night the Gorillas host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in the annual High Plains Food Bank game.
Fans are encouraged to help the less fortunate by donating 10 non-perishable food items to the Gorillas Hockey Office located at 1934 Civic Circle all week long; or the Civic Center Box office on game day only, and receive a ticket to Saturday's game when the Gorillas host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7 p.m.
It promises to be a busy Saturday night with plenty of activities going on. The night is sponsored by The Surgery Center on Soncy's Northwest Texas Sports Medicine Center and 1,000 pucks will be handed out at the door. The Gorillas will wear their Camouflage jerseys and an auction will follow in the Ape Escape after the game.
That night as well, the Gorillas will be making the draw for the game-worn Shawn Degagne jersey. Fans can still get tickets for that draw for just $1 or 6 for $5 at the Gorillas hockey office at 1934 Civic Circle or at the Gorillas booth at the game.
