Amarillo Gorillas News Release

Amarillo, TX 1/4/08 -The Amarillo Gorillas were beat by the Odessa Jackalopes 3-2 in overtime on Friday night, as Josh Legge scored his first goal in three seasons to seal the deal at 2:05 of the extra period. Amarillo has now lost four games in a row to the Jacks, and three in a row overall. The Gorillas did pick up one point however, and were able to move up in the standings as Corpus Christi lost to Colorado leaving Amarillo four points out of the fifth and final playoff spot in the Southern Conference.

Amarillo would get goals from Shaun Arvai and Matt Miller, but Sebastian Thinel would score on the power play at 12:23 of the third to knot the game at 2-2. It took the Jackalopes 2:05 of extra time to get the game winner, as the Jackalopes Captain Josh Legge scored his first goal in three seasons with the Jackalopes to give Odessa two points on the night, and 42 overall.

Amarillo will be back at home to take on the Arizona Sundogs tomorrow night, who along with Odessa are at the top of the Southwest division. Amarillo has seen the Sundogs just once this season, as they lost a 6-4 decision in Prescott Valley earlier this year.
