NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - In the second game in back to back nights the Brahmas (14-14-1) were defeated, this time against the Oklahoma City Blazers 4-1 on the road.
Texas Head Coach Dan Wildfong gave goaltender David Cacciola the nod for his 25th start of the season. The Brahmas were able to get on the board first-a good indication as Texas came into the game 6-4-1 when leading after the opening period. Forwards Grant Jacobsen and Greg McConnell assisted on the Jordan Cameron goal, his 13th of the season.
Oklahoma City (14-14-4), ranked fourth on the powerplay in the league, scored a couple of unanswered goals in the period, one off a Justin Kinnunen penalty. The period would end 2-1.
Texas was unable to convert on four powerplay opportunities in the second, but were able to fight off two penalties of their own from defenseman Chris Mann.
Going into the final period, netminder Cacciola was looking to improve to 4-0 all time against the Blazers, but Peter Robertson ensured a victory for Oklahoma City scoring a goal early on. Oklahoma never looked back beating the Brahmas 4-1.
Cacciola stopped 28 of 32 shots and Blazers goalie Jason Wolfe stopped 30. Texas will return to the NYTEX Sports Centre Friday, January 11 to face the Tulsa Oilers for a 7:05 PM start. Tickets are available at the Brahmas Box Office and can be purchased at (817) 336-4423 or on www.brahmas.com.
