Sacramento River Cats News Release
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento starter Gio Gonzalez threw 6.0 shutout innings as the River Cats toppled the Tacoma Rainiers 3-0 on Saturday night at Raley Field. The left-handed Gonzalez (3-1) has allowed only one run over his last four starts and lowered his ERA to 2.75 on the season. Eric Patterson put Sacramento ahead 1-0 in the first inning when he was hit by a pitch, stole second and third (his 24th and 25th steals of the season) and scored on a passed ball. The River Cats added two insurance runs in the sixth when Gregorio Petit scored on a Travis Buck double after left fielder Michael Saunders bobbled the ball, and Eric Munson scored Buck on a sacrifice fly.
