Goldeyes Hitting the Books

The Winnipeg Goldeyes will be visiting Winnipeg Public Libraries next month in support of the library's TD Summer Reading Club.

Several Goldeyes players will visit nine libraries across the city from Aug. 9-10. It marks the 12th summer that Goldeyes players will read to local children at various Winnipeg Public Libraries.

The reading events are open to the public, but you must register by calling your local library.

Monday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m.

The visits lead up to Library Night at the Ballpark on Aug. 10 when the Goldeyes face the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Fans are encouraged to bring their gently used books to the game. The books will be collected and donated to Friends of the Winnipeg Library and the Liberia Book Project.

Winnipeg Public Library will be in attendance at the game on Aug. 10 for onsite library card signups, information and promotions. The first 4,000 fans will receive a Goldie bookmark, presented by Winnipeg Public Libraries.
