
Goaltender Ben Scrivens Recalled to Toronto

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Ben Scrivens has been recalled by the Marlies from the Royals. In separate transactions also announced today, the Royals: (i) activated forward Chris Blight from the 21-Day Injured Reserve; (ii) activated defenseman Jared Ross from the 7-Day Injured Reserve; (iii) transferred defenseman Rob Kwiet from the 3-Day Injured Reserve to the 7-Day Injured Reserve; (iv) placed forward Eric Castonguay on the 3-Day Injured Reserve; and (v) signed goaltender Shane Davis as the team's emergency back-up goaltender.
This marks Scrivens' first recall to Toronto. In five games with the Royals, he has compiled a 2-3-0-0 record with a 2.85 goals against average and a .919 save percentage. Both Blight and Ross began the season on the injured reserve, and this marks the first time this season that they have been on the Royals' active roster. Kwiet was placed on the 3-Day Injured Reserve on October 21. He has played one game this season with the Royals without registering any points or penalty minutes. Castonguay has registered four points (1g-3a) in six games with the Royals this season. Davis attended Royals' training camp under a Try-Out Agreement. He was released on October 13. Last season, he served as the back-up goaltender for Reading in seventeen games and appeared in one game for the team.
The Royals travel to First Arena in Elmira, New York, for a two-game set on Friday (November 5, 2010 @ 7:35 pm) and Saturday (November 6, 2010 @ 7:35 pm) against the Elmira Jackals.
