The native of Mississauga, Ontario was selected by Edmonton in the fifth round (133rd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and is 18-28-6 with a 3.18 GAA and .901 save percentage in 56 lifetime games with the Thunder. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound defenseman has skated in 70 career games for the Thunder over the last three seasons (2008-11), scoring 13 points (1g-12a) while posting 116 penalty minutes.

Last season, the Leduc, Alberta native recorded five points (1g-4a) and a +10 rating in 15 Kelly Cup Playoff games, helping guide the Thunder to the National Conference Finals for the first time in team history.
