
Go-Go Secure Blowout Victory over the Swarm, Propelled by 47-Point Third Quarter

The Capital City Go-Go defeated the Greensboro Swarm, 139-107, at the Entertainment and Sports Arena with the team's largest margin of victory so far this season (+32). The Go-Go's 47 points scored in the third quarter were the most scored in a quarter in franchise history.
Down by 12 points in the first five minutes of the game, the Go-Go got off to a rocky start defensively, allowing 37 points in the first quarter. The team bounced back, holding the Swarm to 15 points in the second quarter while adding 31 points to bring the score to 59-52 at the half. The team then exploded offensively, scoring 47 points in a balanced effort in the third quarter, shooting 70.8% from the field and 87.5% from three for the quarter. The Go-Go extended their lead in the fourth quarter, leading by as much as 43 points, and defeated the Swarm 139-107.
Capital City had seven players score in double-figures tonight, including all starters. The team was led in scoring and rebounds by Wizards forward Patrick Baldwin Jr., who secured a 22-point, 12-rebound double-double while on assignment with the Go-Go. Wizards two-way player Eugene Omoruyi was the second-highest scorer with 21 points after shooting 10-of-15 from the field. The Go-Go dished out a season-high 34 assists led by Devon Dotson, who had 7 assists on the night.
Jaylen Sims and Amari Bailey each scored a team-high 15 points for the Swarm. Trevon Scott and Terrell Brown Jr. both secured double-doubles with Scott scoring 13 points with 12 rebounds and Brown Jr. scoring 11 points with 10 assists. Charlotte Hornets guard Nick Smith Jr. scored 14 points in six minutes played before going down with an injury in the first quarter.
The Go-Go was coming off of a December 5 loss to Greensboro, Trevon Scott's last-second buzzer beater lifted the Swarm over the Go-Go. The game was back-and-forth for most of duration, with 14 lead changes throughout the afternoon. Jules Bernard and Hamidou Diallo led the team, both with 20 points - Diallo also grabbing a double-double notching 12 rebounds. Guard Devon Dotson led the charge on defense with five steals. However, it was not enough for the hot hand of rookie Amari Bailey, who led the Swarm with 24 points off of the bench on 10-12 shooting.
The Go-Go will have four days before they face the Long Island Nets in a back-to-back showdown on December 12 and 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
