Atlanta Gladiators News Release

On the Road Again: The Gladiators wee on the road for the second straight week this past weekend, dropping two one-goal games in South Carolina on Friday/Saturday before beating Greenville 2-1 on Sunday.

No Rest for the Weary: Gwinnett is now in the midst of a seven game in nine day stretch. They will play four games in the next five days, but three of those games will come at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Almost League Leaders: Gwinnett (9-4-0-3 - 21 pts) is just one point back of the Elmira Jackals (9-2-4-0 - 22 pts) for the highest total in the ECHL.

Forney's on Fire: Forward Mike Forney had a productive weekend, scoring a goal in each of the three games to go along with an assist and a +3 rating. Forney now has at least a point in four straight.

Bendy is Back: Forward Aaron Bendickson was returned from Rochester (AHL) last week. The forward was named Rookie of the Month for October, tallying nine points (two goals, seven assists) in just four games. He had one assist through the three games over the week, but was held without a point for the first time this season by South Carolina on Saturday.

Killer PK: After South Carolina went 2-for-2 on the powerplay against the Glads on Friday, Gwinnett was lights out on the penalty kill the rest of the weekend limiting SC/GRV to a 0-for-15 mark on Saturday and Sunday. The Gladiators PK ranks 5th in the ECHL at 86.5%.

Power Outage: The Glads went just 1-for-18 on the powerplay over their last three games. They still have the 5th best powerplay in the ECHL however, converting 19.3% of the time on the man advantage.

Road-Tested: As of Monday, the Gladiators are tied with Victoria for having played the most games on the road this season (11).

Strong Seconds: The Glads have outscored opponents 21-7 in the second period this season, and out-shot Greenville 20-6 in the 2nd on Sunday. When leading after two periods the Glads are 7-0-0-0.
