South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The South Carolina Stingrays hosted the Greenville Road Warriors, Gwinnett Gladiators and Wheeling Nailers for a week record of 3-1-0-0. The week kicked off on Tuesday as the Road Warriors traveled to the Coliseum for the first time in team history. The Stingrays never let them feel welcome as forward Maxime Lacroix scored two goals and forward Tommy Goebel added three assists as the Stingrays skated away with a 3-1 win. The Gladiators visited North Charleston for back-to-back contests on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Stingrays took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission off of goals from defenseman Bryan Schmidt, Goebel and forward David de Kastrozza, but allowed the Gladiators to crawl back and tie the contest in the first 10 minutes of the second period. de Kastrozza buried the game-winning goal late in the middle frame to seal a 4-3 victory. Stingrays forward Pierre-Luc O'Brien grabbed first-star honors in Saturday's rematch as he netted two goals and added an assist in the Stingrays' 3-2 win. The Nailers made their only trip of the season to the Coliseum on Sunday and escaped with a 1-0 shutout. Nailers defenseman David Urquhart recorded the shorthanded tally early in the third period.
