Gladiators Open House set for October 4th

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they will hold an open house at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in preparation of the 2008 - 2009 season on Saturday, October 4th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Open House will be the first opportunity for Gladiators ticket package holders to pick up their ticket packages for the upcoming season. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to select seats and purchase a ticket package for the upcoming season.

The Gladiators will be holding a "New Season Ticket Holder" information session for all ticket package holders in the club level lounge. The Gladiators will explain all the benefits and perks that each ticket package receives along with their tickets.

Individual game tickets will also be available for purchase during the open house at the Arena at Gwinnett Center Box Office on October 4th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Individual game tickets will go on sale at all other Ticketmaster locations, including online sales, beginning at 10 a.m. on October 4th.

A handful of Gladiators players from the 2008-09 squad as well as Maximus will also be on hand at the Open House signing autographs.

Ticket package holders who attend the open house will also have the opportunity to "Be the Voice" of the Gladiators with an interactive play-by-play calling experience. Ticket package holders will be able to choose from between three different Gladiators plays and receive a DVD of their game call.

Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier 'AA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that will have 23 teams in 16 states and British Columbia playing 864 games from Oct. 17, 2008 to Apr. 4, 2009. Eighteen of the 23 teams have played at least five years in their current city.

The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.
