Grand Junction Jackalopes News Release

Ryan Rolison tossed three scoreless innings in his second start as a pro, but the Great Falls Voyagers beat the Rockies 5-0 Monday night at Centene Stadium.

Rolison allowed just one hit and one walk to go with four strikeouts. He threw 50 pitches, 36 for strikes, but after Reagan Todd tossed two scoreless innings after him, the Voyagers finally broke through against Michael Agis in the sixth, taking advantage of a couple of walks and an error. Amado Nunez broke the scoreless tie with a 2-run single. After the Rockies stranded two runners in the seventh, the Voyagers busted the game open with three runs in four hits in the bottom of the inning off of Reagan Biechler.

The Rockies were shutout for the second time in the series, and were held to just five hits, two came in the first inning, but the leadoff man only reached twice, and the Rockies were 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.

Matt Portland earned the win for Great Falls, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings. He left in the game with two on in the seventh and Austin Conway maintained the lead when he got L.J. Hatch to fly out to right field. Conway worked around a Hunter Stovall double in the eighth, and Nick Johnson kept the Rockies off the board in the ninth, despite Niko Decolati's leadoff single.

Decolati was the only Rockie with two hits as they fall to 14-17 on the season and go 3-4 on their 7-game trip to Billings and Great Falls.

The Rockies will head home and open up a 7-game homestand Wednesday night when the Billings Mustangs visit Suplizio Field for the first game of a 3-game series.
