Great Falls, MT - The Voyagers received a quality start and some timely hitting to break open a scoreless game late in a 5-0 series-clinching victory over Grand Junction Monday night at Centene Stadium.

Great Falls (19-12) remains in first place in the Pioneer League North, and now sits three games up on Missoula with seven to play in the first half schedule. The Voyagers went 15-4 at home in the first half. Grand Junction (14-17) fell to 8-10 on the road.

The Voyagers and Rockies were scoreless through the first five frames until Great Falls sent seven men to the plate in both the 6th and 7th innings. A dropped pop fly to left off the bat of Ramon Beltre started the bottom of the 6th. With one out, Corey Zangari and Alex Destino earned back-to-back walks. Amado Nunez then broke the tie with a bases-loaded, two-run single smacked into left field.

Maiker Feliz led off the 7th with a double banged off the wall in left-center. Ian Dawkins followed with a single to left. Both Feliz and Dawkins moved up on a passed ball. Ramon Beltre came through with a triple lined to the wall in left-center that scored both runners for a 4-0 lead. Logan Sowers plated the game's final run with an RBI double off the wall in left.

Matt Portland rolled out his first quality start of the season for the win. Portland (2-0) lasted six-and-two-thirds and scattered three hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Michael Agis suffered the loss for Grand Junction. Agis (2-3) pitched two-thirds of an inning and gave up two runs (one earned) on one hit with one strikeout and two walks.

At the plate, Logan Sowers and Ryan Fitzpatrick both went 2-for-3 and reached base three times. Amado Nunez matched Sowers for the team's longest hitting streak now at 11. Ramon Beltre pushed his hitting streak to nine and his on-base streak to 16 consecutive games.
