
Osprey Bats Quiet Monday in 9-0 Loss to the Chukars

MISSOULA, MONT - In the final game of a three-game series, the Missoula Osprey (16-15) fell to the Idaho Falls Chukars (17-14) Monday from Melaleuca Field. Missoula won the series 2-1 with victories Saturday and Sunday.
Idaho Falls jumped on the board in the first inning off Osprey starter Edgar Martinez (3-2) as Kyle Isbel led off with a double. Nathan Eaton followed with a single to score Isbel and give the Chukars a 1-0 lead.
Offerman Collado began the bottom of the third with a walk for Idaho Falls and Tyler James bunted him to second. Isbel singled on a line drive to right to score Collado and push the Chukars lead to 2-0 through three.
To lead off the fourth, Zack Shannon singled for the Osprey, but he was left stranded as Chukars starter JC Cloney (6-0) retired the next three batters.
The biggest inning of the night was the sixth for Idaho Falls as Reed Rohlman led off with a single. Nick Hutchins walked while Angel Media singled on a line drive to center to load the bases. Andres Martin singled to knock Martinez out of the game. Collado then doubled home three runs against Omar Herman, and Kyle Isbel capped of the six-run frame with a two-run homer. Isbel then notched his second homer of the night with a solo blast in the eighth to push the Chukars lead to 9-0.
Missoula finished with four hits on the day as Shannon, Buddy Kennedy, Jesus Munoz, and David Sanchez all singled against Cloney.
Missoula returns to action Wednesday against the Ogden Raptors from Ogren Park Allegiance Field. First pitch is slated for 7:05 pm with the gates opening at 6:30. The Selway Armory Pregame Show begins at 6:45 p.m. on 102.9 ESPN Missoula and the MiLB First Pitch App.
