
Gilbreath Throws One Hitter as Rox Win 6-0

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox swept the Eau Claire Express after they defeated them 6-0 Sunday night in front of a crowd of 2,113 at the Rock Pile.
Lucas Glibreath (University of Minnesota) was the starting pitcher for the Rox. He would go 7.0 innings, striking out five batters and only allowing one hit. Gilbreath improves his season record to 4-0 while striking out 41 batters and lowering his ERA to 2.05.
The Rox would score their first run in the bottom of the second inning when Reese Gregory (St. Cloud State) scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Brett Pope (Western Carolina University).
St. Cloud would add one more run in the fourth inning when Connor Crane (McNeese State) would single in Austin Athmann (University of Minnesota).
In the fifth inning Gregory would drive in John Sansone (Florida State University) with a single.
The eighth inning proved to be the big inning for the Rox as they scored three runs. It started when Crane hit a single to right field that would find its way past the Express right fielder's glove and legs that allowed Athmann and Pope to score. Crane would end up at third base because of the error.
After the error Crane would score on a fielder's choice off the bat of Joe Tietjen (UNC Ashville).
Andrew Clemen (South Dakota State) would pitch the final two innings out of the bullpen. He did not allow a hit or any runs.
The Rox are now 17-6 in the second half and 36-21 overall. St. Cloud leads the second half North Division standings by three games over Willmar.
The Rox will travel to Thunder Bay for a two-game series versus the Border Cats tomorrow starting at 6:05 p.m.
The Rox will return home on Wednesday, July 29th as they host the Mankato MoonDogs for a doubleheader. Game one is scheduled to begin at 12:05 p.m. Join us for lunch at the Rock Pile. It will be Youth Day presented by Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota.
Game two is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start. The National Entertainment Act "Cowboy Monkey" will be at the Rock Pile presented by Ram Trucks and Brandl Motors.
