The Kelowna Rockets fell 7-4 to the Vancouver Giants Friday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, BC.

The game started with a bang, there were three goals in less than four minutes into the game. The Rockets were awarded the first power play of the game after Owen Hardy tripped Lassi Thomson. Nolan Foote (32) capitalized on the man advantage when he fired home a one timer 1:44 into the game. The Giants responded exactly a minute later when Nicholas Draffin (1) deflected a shot past Rockets starter, James Porter. Mark Liwiski (10) reestablished the Rockets lead at 3:12 when he put a rebound past Giants netminder, David Tendeck. Dallas Hines (8) tied the game up once again, 11:16 into the period. Foote (33) put the Rockets back in front with his second goal of the night at 16:45. After a period full of goals, the Rockets held a 3-2 lead.

Alex Kannok Leipert (3) tied the game with an early goal, 1:15 into the period. Alex Swetlikoff (4) was right in front of the Giant's net to put away the rebound and give the Rockets the lead again at 4:47. Once again, the Giants tied the game on a Jadon Joseph (18) goal at 12:24. Following that goal, Roman Basran replaced Porter in net for the Rockets. With Mark Liwiski and Alex Kannok Leipert already sitting in the box serving offsetting minors for roughing, Lassi Thomson was called for face off interference, giving the Giants their first power play of the night. With lots of room to play, Milos Roman (24) gave the Giants their first lead of the night at 14:33. The Giants were up 5-4 after two periods of play.

Davis Koch (25) put the Giants up by two goals at 9:58. Tristen Nielsen (11) put away an empty-net goal with one minute left in the game to give Vancouver a 7-4 lead.

The Kelowna Rockets record is now 25-30-4-1.

Porter turned aside 23 of the 27 shots fired on him before being replaced in net. Basran turned aside 12 of the 14 shots he faced, his record moves to 18-17-2-0. The Giants outshot the Rockets 42-39.
