
ICE Welcome Hitmen on Special ICE Hall of Fame Night

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (12-39-7-3) welcome the Calgary Hitmen (33-22-5-1) for the third and final time this season on Saturday, March 2.
A special pre-game ceremony will delay the puck drop to approximately 7:20 p.m. MT.
Saturday is guaranteed to be a special night as ICE great Jarret Stoll will be inducted into the newly launched ICE Hall of Fame.

The ICE are coming off of a 5-3 victory over the Swift Current Broncos on March 1. The ICE received two goals from Connor McClennon, while Brad Ginnell, Jaeger White and Brandon Machado added the others. Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 24-of-27 shots. The Broncos got goals from Carter Chorney, Eric Houk and Matthew Culling. Goaltender Isaac Poulter blocked 43-of-47 shots. The ICE outshot the Broncos 48-27. They went 0-for-3 on the power play, 3-for-3 on the penalty kill and won 31-of-55 face-offs.
The ICE have amassed 34 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.
The ICE have a home record of 8-19-3-0.

The Calgary Hitmen visit the Kootenay ICE for the third and final time this season on Saturday, March 2. The Hitmen have won back-to-back games and have collected at least one point in their last four games. The Hitmen play eight games in the month of March, tonight is the second. Heading into tonight's game, the Hitmen are third in the Central Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference.
The Hitmen are coming off of a 3-2 overtime victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings on March 1. The Hitmen received goals from James Malm, Mark Kastelic and Riley Stotts. Stotts and Egor Zamula each recorded two points in the game. Goaltender Jack McNaughton stopped 19-of-21 shots. The Hitmen outshot the Wheat Kings 42-21. They went 1-for-3 on the power play, 3-for-3 on the penalty kill and won 38-of-69 face-offs.
The Hitmen have collected 72 points this season, which is good for third in the Central Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference.
The Hitmen have a road record of 14-13-2-1.
HEAD TO HEAD
The ICE and the Hitmen meet six times during the 2018-19 regular season. The game on March 2 is the fifth meeting of the season between these two teams. The season series finale takes place on March 3 at the Saddledome in Calgary. The ICE haven't hosted the Hitmen since November 16.
The ICE are 4-7-1-0 in the last 12 games against the Hitmen at Western Financial Place. Overall, both home and away, the ICE are 6-15-1-3 in the last 25 games against the Hitmen.
