Giants Make Two Deals on Deadline Day

The Vancouver Giants have made a pair of deals in advance of today's WHL Trade Deadline.

The Giants have acquired 20 year-old defenseman A.J. THELEN from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for 19 year-old defenseman JOHN FLATTERS and 16 year-old prospect defenseman NATHAN DECK.

Thelen, a 2004 First Round NHL Draft Pick of the Minnesota Wild is into his second and final season in the WHL. The 6'3", 212lbs defenseman is a native of Savage, Minnesota.

Also today, the Giants acquired 19 year-old left winger MICHAEL WUCHTERL from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for 20 year-old right winger KYLE LAMB.

Wuchterl, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, joins the Giants after spending time with both the Hurricanes and Everett Silvertips. The 5'9", 205lbs winger has played in 25 WHL playoff games to go along with his 186 regular season appearances.
