Wheat Kings and Hawks complete deal

Brandon, Manitoba -- The Western Hockey League Trade Deadline has come and gone with the Brandon Wheat Kings completing one deal, obtaining an overage goal scoring left-winger from the Portland Winter Hawks.

Wheat Kings' general manager and head coach Kelly McCrimmon has announced the acquisition of 6'3" 215 lb left-winger Robert Klinkhammer from the Hawks in excange for captain Teegan Moore and a second round pick in the 2007 WHL bantam draft.

A 4-year Western Hockey League veteran, Klinkhammer is enjoying a career year with Portland, having scored 23 goals and 42 points in 38 games. A 20 year old native of Lethbridge, Klinkhammer is currently seventh in the league in goals.

In a season split between Seattle and Lethbridge last winter, he had eight goals, 20 points and 52 minutes in penalties. During his WHL career, Klinkhammer has 47 goals, 93 points and 224 penalty minutes in 202 games.

The 48th captain in franchise history, Moore was in his fifth season with Brandon, having played 299 games (8th in franchise history) and had four goals, 14 points and 24 penalty minutes in 36 games this season. A Thompson product, Moore had 40 goals and 102 points during his Western Hockey League career.
