Giants Clinch Division Title

VANCOUVER BC - With the Kelowna Rockets losing 4-3 in the shootout Thursday night to the Chilliwack Bruins, the Vancouver Giants have CLINCHED their fourth consecutive BC Division Title.

The Giants have a record of 48-5-1-3 on the season for 100 points, which gives them a 17 point lead over the Tri City Americans for first place in the Western Conference. Vancouver's 100 point season marks the 4th season in a row that the G-Men have posted t at least 100 points in a season, which ties a WHL record with the Kamloops Junior Oilers/Blazers franchise in the mid 1980's.

One more win by the Giants will tie the team record with 49 wins in a season. The Giants posted 49 wins last season.

With 15 games left over the next 23 days, the Giants have a chance to also take a run at the Scotty Munro Trophy, awarded to the team with the best WHL regular season record. The Giants are eight points back of the Calgary Hitmen, but have six games in hand.

The Giants will next take on the Kelowna Rockets this Friday night. You can catch all the action on AM 650.
