Giant Heading To World U17 Tournament

The Vancouver Giants congratulate forward James Henry on being selected to play for Team West at the upcoming World Under 17 Hockey Challenge. Henry is one of 16 players from the Western Hockey League who will represent the team made up of the top 16 year-old players from Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Henry is into his inagural season with the Giants. The 5'8", 170lbs. left winger from Winnipeg, Manitoba has appeared in 14 games with the Giants this season. He was Vancouver's 9th round pick in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft (187th overall).

"James has worked extremely hard the past few years to be named to this team," says Giants General Manager Scott Bonner. "He's had a solid start to this season for our club and we know he'll become a better player by taking part in this international event this winter."

The World Under 17 Hockey Challenge will be take place December 29, 2007 to January 4, 2008 in London, Ontario. Current and former Giants players who have participated in this event include Tyson Sexsmith, Justin Palazzo, Craig Schira, Mike Reich, Brendan Mikkelson, and Gilbert Brule.
