Johnny Bower appearance highlights busy week

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - National Hockey League Hall of Famer Johnny Bower will return to his home town of Prince Albert this week to attend a Prince Albert Raiders Western Hockey League game. Bower will be the guest of honour tomorrow night when the Raiders host the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7:30 PM.

Mr. Bower also will be the guest of honour at a Civic Luncheon Thursday at noon in the Ches Leach Lounge.

Here is an itinerary for the Raiders week:

Tuesday, November 13 - Practice 1:00 - 3:00 PM Art Hauser Centre

Read with the Raiders- 5:30-6:30 PM John M.Culeneare Public Library

Raiders Jordan Trach, James Dobrowolski, Kyle Aschim and Ryan Button will be at the library reading with members of this popular club. Read with the Raiders is sponsored by the Prince Albert Daily Herald, Prince Albert High Noon Optimists Club and SaskTel.

Wednesday, November 14 - Brandon Wheat Kings at Raiders - 7:30 PM - AHC

Johnny Bower Night!

Prince Albert product Johnny Bower will make his first public appearance in PA in over 30 years! A special insert will be in the Game Night program (which will feature new player profiles) that Johnny Bower will autograph. Johnny will be available from 6:30 PM to 7:20 PM in the front lobby and in the first intermission in the Ches Leach Lounge. Johnny will be recognized at centre ice prior to the game with presentations from the City of Prince Albert, Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame and Prince Albert Raiders Hockey Club.

Thursday, November 15 - Lunch with Johnny! Noon - Ches Leach Lounge

Have lunch with a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and Canada's Walk of Fame! Mitch Holash is the Master of Ceremonies of the luncheon which will include a special announcement from Mayor Jim Scarrow on behalf of the City of Prince Albert and a question and answer session with Johnny. Tickets are still available. They are $25 each or a table of 8 is $175. Call the Raider Office at 764-GAME to order!

Friday, November 16 - SGI Take Care Out There Program - 9:00 - 11:00 AM

Raiders Ashton Hewson, Bryce Lamb and Max Brandl will visit Spruce Home School. The program is in conjunction with SGI, Parkland Ambulance, Prince Albert City Police and RCMP.

Saturday, November 17 - Lethbridge Hurricanes at Raiders - 7:30 PM - AHC

Sunday, November 18 - Calgary Hitmen at Raiders - 7:30 PM - AHC

Guns 'N Hoses Night! SPECIAL STARTING TIME - 7:30 PM

The Raiders have moved the starting time for this game back to 7:30 PM to allow fans to watch the conclusion of the CFL West Final before coming to the Art Hauser Centre.

The game will feature Prince Albert's Finest (Police vs. Fire) in a friendly challenge! The first intermission will feature target shooting and a PA Alarms Systems/Rawlco Radio Human Hamster ball race between Lloyd Zwack of the Fire Department against Jason Stonechild of the Police Department. The second intermission high light will be the two chiefs against each other in the Conexus Human Sling Shot! Police Chief Dale McFee will take on Fire Chief Les Karpluk.

Both the Police and Fire Associations are selling tickets to the game with part of the proceeds going to Victim Services and Child Crises Unit.
