KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Get Hits 4 Education announces its 3rd Annual Baseball All-Star Game will return to Community America Ballpark on September 22, 2013, at 5:30 p.m.
The game features top high school players from the region, following their performance on summer elite teams. This event has featured future collegiate players and eight Major League Baseball draft picks, including Colin Wiles (first round), Justin Chigbogu (fourth) and Bralin Jackson (fifth) in the 2012 draft.
The Get Hits All-Star Game celebrates youth baseball talent in the Midwest by giving current high school student-athletes a professional platform to compete against equally talented peers for the best baseball scholarships and professional baseball opportunities. This celebration simultaneously educates and encourages younger student-athletes to dedicate themselves in the classroom and in the "field" of their choice to pursue and make their dreams come true.
"The environment created by the T-Bones makes this a great venue to host this event and give our kids exposure to a quality organization while being able to showcase their talent in front of coaches and scouts," said founder Karl Carswell. "We're excited to have an event like this in Kansas City for the third year."
This year funds raised will go toward scholarships and developing facilities. Get Hits has identified two facilities that are in urban areas in Kansas City and will require rehab to fields to get them in suitable playing condition. Proceeds from tickets and sponsorships of this event will be utilized to make those improvements. Tickets are available at www.ticketreturn.com for $11 in advance or $15 at the box office on the day of the game.
