Generals Announce Trades

Oshawa, Ontario - June 1st, 2006 (Generals Hockey Inc.) - The Oshawa Generals announced today that they have completed the following three transactions.

Prior to the draft, Oshawa traded Erie's 2nd round selection in 2006 to Windsor in exchange for Windsor's 5th round selection in 2007 and Windsor's 2nd round selection in 2008. Conditional to that deal, Oshawa receives the rights to overage, right shot defenceman, Peter Aston. Peter who is 6'1" and 205 lbs., recorded 16 goals and 36 assists for 52 points in 65 games. A trade, 16 games into the season sent Peter to Windsor from Peterborough. Peter also recorded 2 goals and 1 assist in seven playoff games. Peter was also a member of the Western Conference team in the 2005/06 All-Star Classic.

"In Peter, we are getting a highly-skilled, offensively-minded defenceman who will bring a great deal of stability and experience to the Generals blueline", said Brad Selwood, General Manager of the Oshawa Generals. "We are very hopeful that Peter will embrace this opportunity". Selwood added that if Peter does sign, Windsor's 2nd round selection in 2008 will be returned to Windsor.

The Generals second deal sees 18-year-old defenceman Chris Mifflen traded to Sarnia in return for 18-year-old Kody Musselman. Kody, a native of Whitby, Ontario, was Sarnia's 1st round selection, 16th overall in the 2004 Priority Selection. Kody who is 6'1" and 191 lbs, is a right-shot forward. In 56 games played last season, Kody recorded 2 goals and 4 assists with 106 penalty minutes.

"Kody has the potential to be a very valuable power forward. He can play more than one forward position and comes to play each and every night. I feel that he could end up being an important piece of the puzzle," said Selwood. "We wish Chris all the best and I'm sure he will have a very bright future in Sarnia."
