Gendur Returns to Everett

September 10, 2007 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Everett Silvertips News Release

The Everett Silvertips announced Monday that forward Dan Gendur will rejoin the club following a week-long tryout at the Vancouver Canucks' rookie camp. Gendur, 20, was acquired by the Silvertips from the Prince George Cougars on November 28th, 2006 in exchange for Everett's sixth round selection in the 2008 Bantam Draft. The right wing had a breakout season after missing most of 2005-2006 with a leg injury, easily posting career highs of 22 goals and 27 assists for 49 points, the fifth highest point total on last year's roster. In a 9-0 win over the Portland Winter Hawks on January 26th, the Victoria, BC native recorded his first career WHL hat trick to go along with four assists, a +6 rating and the #1 Star of the Game. In separate news, Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert announced that forward Cameron Abney was reassigned to the North Delta Devils of the PIJHL. Abney, a sixteen year old native of Aldergrove, BC, impressed Everett coaches with his physical play as well as excellent balance on the ice. He scored his lone pre-season goal in a 4-1 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds at Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center on September 1st.

The regular season begins on Friday, September 21st at Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center as the Silvertips host the rival Tri-City Americans in a Western Hockey League contest beginning at 7:35 pm. For ticket information, including season seats and ticket packages, please call the Silvertips' front office at (425) 252-5100. As always, radio coverage of Silvertips hockey will be provided by ESPN Radio KRKO 1380, while highlights of audio broadcast, video packages and relevant multimedia will be provided by the Western Hockey League's website, www.whl.ca.
