Gems Announce Battle of the Band Semifinalists For Upcoming Faith & Family Night

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Gems professional hockey team, proud members of the "AA" Central Hockey League, have announced the finalists for their first annual Faith & Family Night "Battle of the Bands" contest.

New for this year is the Battle of the Bands contest to select the postgame performer, picked by the fans through a special online tally conducted on Facebook leading up to the event. The winning performer will earn the chance to perform a postgame concert on February 18 and win $250 in cash.

Due to the number of qualified nominations received, the Gems have decided to expand the semifinalist field to four. The selected semifinalists in no particular order are:

- Reece Lincoln Band (Dayton)

- Mindy Galvin (Dayton)

- All Changes Apply (Lima)

- Sunday Afternoons (Dayton)

Fans will then be asked to vote for their favorite nominee to perform the postgame concert at Hara Arena on February 18. Fan voting will close on February 3, with the winner being announced by February 6.

The winning faith-based band or solo artist will receive the grand prize of performing the postgame concert at Hara Arena immediately following the Gems game, $250 in cash, tickets to the game, a Gems team autographed stick, Gems t-shirts, special meet and greet with the players and team chaplains and band promotion online and throughout the game.
