Laredo's Rusty Masters Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 23, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Laredo's Rusty Masters has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 22, 2012.

The Grafton, Ontario native has been one of Laredo's most consistent forwards this season, as he leads his team in both goals (10) and assists (20), and stepped up big this week to help his team to two wins. Masters finished the week with three goals and an assist and accounted for the game winning goal in both of the Bucks victories during the week.
The week started off solid for Masters on Tuesday night against the Killer Bees where Rusty managed to put away an extra-attacker powerplay goal at the end of the game, but was not enough as his team fell short 4-3. Later in the week, the 6-0, 185-pound forward scored the game winning goal in Laredo's 5-3 win over Rio Grande Valley on Friday night and then had the game winning goal and an assist in his team's 3-2 win over the Killer Bees on Saturday night.
Laredo, 15-22-0, is now just one point away from climbing out of the basement in the Berry Conference and are above .500 at 10-9-0 since early December.
