Garnett, Medak Join Chicago Wolves for Calder Cup Playoffs

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl of the East Coast Hockey League announced on Wednesday that goaltender MICHAEL GARNETT and left-winger JUDD MEDAK have been recalled by the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves.

The defending Calder Cup Champions finished their 80-game regular season schedule with a record of 43-25-8-4, 98 points and the fourth playoff seed in the AHL's Western Conference. Game one of Chicago's best-of-five playoff series against the Hershey Bears is scheduled for Sunday, April 13th at All State Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

GARNETT posted a record of 16-15-3 with a goals-against average of 3.41 in 38 regular season games with the ECHL's Greenville Grrrowl. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native also went 1-2-1 with a 4.38 GAA in 3 Kelly Cup Playoff games. The Grrrowl were swept, 3-games-to-none, in the ECHL Southeast Division Semi-Finals by the Columbia Inferno. Garnett also appeared in 2 games with Chicago this season, and went 0-1-0 with a 3.64 GAA.

MEDAK, who recorded 17-26-43 points and 104 penalty minutes in 62 games, was Greenville's lone ECHL All-Star representative this season. The Edmonton, Alberta native added 3 assists and 6 penalty minutes in 4 Kelly Cup Playoff Games, and 2-2-4 points and 6 penalty minutes with Chicago in the regular season. He scored his first AHL goal on March 26th in a 7-4 win over the Houston Aeros.
