Wings Stadium/K-Wings Name Jim Burlew Assistant GM and Emily Lanz Box Office Manager

Kalamazoo, MI- Wings Stadium, which is also home to "The Annex" and "The Cube", announces the promotion of Jim Burlew to Assistant General Manager of the Kalamazoo Wings and Emily Lanz to Box Office Manager of Wings Stadium.

In his hockey career, Jim Burlew has done almost every job imaginable. What started out as a college career at the University of Miami (OH), transpired to refereeing professional hockey, to owning professional teams.

"His successful background in minor league sports reflected in ownership and corporate sales will be a great asset to our team," said Vice President and General Manager Paul Pickard. "I have known Jim for a while and his ideas and understanding of hockey will benefit not only the team, but our fans."

Pickard and Burlew's relationship dates back to the Huntington (WV) Blizzard of the ECHL, where Pickard was the Head Coach for the team that was partially owned by Burlew. Jim also won two championships in his career in the former WPHL, when he was a part owner of the El Paso Buzzards.

"I am excited about furthering my relationship with Paul," said Burlew "The tradition of the Kalamazoo Wings is what initially brought me here, and I will work hard to help build on that tradition."

Wings Stadium Complex also names Emily Lanz as Box Office Manager. Lanz joined the Wings Stadium family in December. Before coming to Wings Stadium, Emily worked at Gaylord Entertainment Center (home of Nashville Predators), and most recently Miller Auditorium.

"Her genuine enthusiasm and willingness to be a team player will certainly help our Box Office to progress and increase our sales and customer service," said Pickard.

Stadium Management Company owns both Wings Stadium Complex and the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team. Wings Stadium Complex is comprised of three buildings; Wings Stadium seats more than 5,100 fans for K-Wings home games and more than 8,000 people for concerts and other stage events. The Annex seats 1,367 for ice events and 2,850 for non-ice events such as car, boat, and trade shows. The Cube is the newer of the three facilities, that plays host to both ice and non-ice events. All three buildings are available for rental and feature numerous catering and meeting opportunities.
