Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced Tuesday that they have traded forward Garett Bembridge to the Rapid City Rush in exchange for future considerations. In 40 games played with the Fuel in 2015-16, Bembridge has 24 points (11g, 13a) and a team-leading 117 shots on goal.
The 34-year-old from Melfort, Saskatchewan came to Indy in an early season trade last year from the Missouri Mavericks, and has tallied 76 points (36g, 40a) in 102 games in a Fuel uniform, more than any other player in the organization's history. The 15-year professional led Indy in points (52), goals (25), power play goals (9) and shots on goal (222) during the club's inaugural season a year ago.
Bembridge has 316 games of ECHL experience under his belt, during stints with the Fuel, Mavericks, Idaho Steelheads, Utah Grizzlies, Augusta Lynx and the Las Vegas Wranglers, amassing 275 career points (128g, 147a) over his time in the league. The forward has also played 244 games in the American Hockey League, and made stops in the CHL, WHL, as well as in Germany, Italy and Japan.
