January 26, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The ECHL announced today that Allen Americans forward Chris Crane has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for the week ending January 24th 2016.
Chris Crane scored five goals last week for the Americans, which included a game winner and a shorthanded goal, while adding three assists for eight points in four games to help lead Allen to a 3-0-1-0 record.
The native of West Chester, Ohio, is in his second season with the Americans, his first full season with Allen after having joined the Americans late last year and then playing with Allen during the postseason Kelly Cup Championship run. The former 7th round draft pick of the Americans NHL affiliate, San Jose Sharks, has 32 games at the American Hockey League level with both the Worcester Sharks and San Jose Barracuda where he has put up a total of nine points.
"I want to thank my teammates for a great week, I couldn't have done it without them," said Americans forward Chris Crane. "I'm looking forward to the second half of the season and defending the Kelly Cup. My experience with San Jose earlier this year has really helped me to develop my game and working under Coach Martinson on a daily basis has really helped me to grow as a hockey player."
Crane and the Americans are traveling to Tulsa, Oklahoma, today for a matchup tonight against the Oilers at 7:05 pm. This will be the first of four meetings between the two clubs this week. Join us for Friday's game in Allen, which will feature the Star Wars kids prize pack for the first 1000 kids through the doors. Plus, it's Autograph Friday, sponsored by KLAK, with a full team skate following the game; and Sunday's Medieval Times/Jewish Heritage Family night. Tickets for both games are on sale NOW.
