
Garcia leads Redcoats

Travis Garcia went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI as the Ohio Valley Redcoats scored in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to defeat the Evansville Otters 7-2.
The Otters got on the board first in the top of the third inning. After a Frank Scott walk to lead off the inning, Denver Stuckey sacrificed him to second. Jeff Goldbach doubled to bring Scott home for a 1-0 Evansville lead.
Ohio Valley came back in the fourth to take the lead sending seven men to the plate and getting RBI singles from Jason Boyd and Nick Batkoski to go up 2-1. The Redcoats upped the lead to 4-1 in the fifth inning on a towering homer off the bat of Travis Garcia.
Ohio Valley tacked on another three runs in the sixth inning. Trask Munoz hit his second homer of the season in the eighth inning to make the final score 7-2.
Robby Read (1-1) got the win for Ohio Valley going six innings allowing five hits and one run. Jon Grijalva went the final three innings for his first save.
The Otters and Redcoats will go again tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Cody Blackard (3-1) will go for Evansville against Ryan Childs (4-2) for Ohio Valley.
