Last Time vs. Bakersfield

The last time the Thunder took on the Bakersfield Condors takes us back to a pre-Thanksgiving matchup on November 26. The Thunder, coming off of their fifth straight win over the birds hosted the Condors for the third time in-a-row. While both Shane Owen and Frans Tuohimaa kept the scoresheet clean in the first, it took only a moment in the second to break the deadlock as Tyler Maxwell scored his (at the time) team leading seventh goal of the season, however moments later it was a Connor Jones hit that took Maxwell out of the game and eventually the injury would put him on the 21-day IR.

Meanwhile the Condors found their offense and it'd be four straight goals, including two power-play goals before the Thunder would find their second courtesy of Roberts Lipsbergs first professional goal. Bakersfield would add an empty netter and snap a five-game losing skid to the Thunder in a 5-2 Condors win.

Tonight

The Thunder bring a two game winning streak over the top team in the Pacific Division, the Idaho Steelheads, and look to extend it tonight with a win over their rival, the Condors.

The Thunder are 5-2-0 against the team and play them a total of eight more times including tonight. The Condors are currently sitting in third place in the division with 33 points, eight points ahead of the Thunder.

Who to Watch

Tyler Maxwell is the man to watch as the former Condor has torched his old squad this season, and is carrying a six-game point streak into the game tonight.

In seven games played, Maxwell has picked up five of his 9 goals against the Condors and has added 4 assists to lead the active roster in points against Bakersfield, and just one point behind Peter Sivak's team leading 10 points against the Condors.

In his six-game point streak, the Southern California native has scored 6 goals and has added 6 assists. The streak dates back to 11-20-14 against the Condors. Maxwell missed a total of 9 games while on injured reserve.

All-Time Watch

We're monitoring the situation between Garet Hunt, Ryan Constant and Mike Lalonde as Lalonde's all-time lead in points could be in danger of falling to one of the Thunder's star players soon.

Lalonde's 156 career points is in jeopardy as Constant pulled ahead with 151 points with the Thunder while Hunt is right behind them both with 145.

That means Constant is just 5 points back of tying the record while Hunt is 11 points back of tying the record. Both players have missed time due to injuries this season as Hunt missed 11 games while Constant was placed on Injured Reserve on December 14.

Hunt is the only one close to Lalonde's all-time record of 72 goals with his 54 markers, putting the Thunder captain 18 shy of tying the record.

Streaks on the Line tonight

Tyler Maxwell is on a six-game point streak (6G, 6A).

Keith Seabrook is on a three-game point streak (1G, 2A).

Jack MacLellan is on a two-game point streak (1G, 2A).

Tyler Shattock is on a two-game assist streak (3A).

Alex Mallet is on a two-game point streak (1G, 1A).

Interesting Note

Two of the Thunder's three road victories have come at Rabobank Arena.
