TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors battle the Stockton Thunder tonight in the 8th meeting of the season. The Condors put an end to a five-game slide against their Highway 99 rivals with a 5-2 victory in their last meeting, on Nov. 26. The teams will still meet seven more times after tonight's contest.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Condors salvaged a three-game trip to Alaska before the Christmas break with a 4-3 shootout victory last Saturday night. Trailing 3-1 with six minutes left to play, the Condors scored twice to force overtime, and G Frans Tuohimaa stopped all five Aces shooters in the skills competition to preserve the win. C Connor Jones, LW Kellen Jones and RW Brendan Brooks (with 70 seconds left and the goaltender pulled) scored for Bakersfield in the game.
Stockton has won two straight, after dropping the first place Idaho Steelheads in back-to-back games last Saturday and Sunday. The Thunder, who are fighting to emerge from the bottom of the Pacific Division standings, received a 33-save effort from G Shane Owen and two goals from former Condors F Tyler Maxwell in Sunday's win.
CONDORS NOTES
On Sunday, Condors scored with the goaltender pulled for an extra attacker for the third time this season... G Frans Tuohimaa picked up his first shootout win of the season, the first time in 2014-15 a Condors goalie has gone a perfect 5-for-5... LW Chase Schaber has six points (2g-4a) in his last seven games... RW Sebastien Sylvestre has eight points (4g-4a) in 10 games in the month of December. He is tied with RW Brendan Brooks (9 GP, 4g-4a) and C Josh Currie (10 GP, 4g-4a) for the team lead in the month of December.
